Doppler Blood Flow Analysis
With Doppler ultrasound technology, Supro Direct physicians can measure blood flow in your arteries and veins.
During your annual executive physical at Supro Direct, our physicians will conduct a doppler blood flow analysis. The purpose of this test is to measure the blood flow through your veins and arteries and detect poor circulation, as well as potential blood clots.
About Doppler Ultrasound Exams in Greenwood, IN
During your Doppler ultrasound analysis at our Greenwood, IN office, one of our experienced physicians will pass a Doppler handheld device lightly over your skin and above blood vessels. This device, called a transducer, sends and receives sound waves which are then amplified through a microphone. These sound waves bounce off solid objects such as blood cells. As the blood cells move throughout your veins and arteries, a change in pitch can be heard in the sound waves. These changes in sound are referred to as the Doppler effect.
